Cala Cimenti

Carlalberto “Cala” Cimenti, born in Turin in 1975 from parents who were athletes and who loved to travel, begins to practice mountain sports since he was really young. So skiing, mountaineering and cycling, along with the curiosity of other cultures, becomes an integral part of Cala’s life.
In parallel to the competitive sports of some disciplines like ski mountaineering and tail running, he discovered his true passion for high altitudes.
For more than ten years, Cala conceives mountaineering projects in distant lands, merging his passions for traveling, skiing and high altitudes.

Here are just some of the results of this research: complete descent of Communism Peak, descent of the northern side of Peak Lenin (ascent in 12 hours and descent in 1), partial descent of Manaslu, the south side of the Grand Jorasses, east side of the Matterhorn, west side of Mont Blanc (couloir Saudane).

Cala also was the first Italian to receive the honor bestowed Snowleopard reserved for mountaineers who climb all the peaks over 7,000m in the territory of the former USSR.
